Such a talented actor. He was excellent in all things but he'll always be the best FDR I've seen. He was wonderful along with Blythe Danner in The Eleanor and Lou Gehrig Story as well.

Amy: " Wait, is this a dream? No I'm not holding a label maker."

It's not just that she's 40 already playing someone who died at 27 and the camera hasn't even turned yet but hasn't the story more or less been covered pretty well in all but name by Bette Midler and the film The Rose all the way back in 1979?

I'm a fan of the show, one of those DVR watchers that can't catch it when it airs, and glad the network is giving it a little time to find its footing so word of mouth will hopefully spread. The lead girl is a trifle flat but the dynamic between Ioan Gruffydd and Judd Hirsch is wonderful. Ioan's got a firm handle on

"I would give you more details but someone just came in to try and find her Dalmatian coat." The guest PJ's/slippers/toothbrush, Dance-y Reagans and so many more. Great episode, one of my favorites of the series.

Saw this after a visit to the actual Tombstone so I was prepared for the inaccuracies. It is a great piece of work whether it's the minute by minute story, no even close, or not.

I love, love, love this film. True it doesn't move at warp speed as films today seem to feel they must but it's still high quality film making, bright and shiny and with a far more realistic story than most of the adventure junk churned out now. Plus characters you actually know something about therefore being able to

I stuck with this through this season because I like some of the actors but with this even more idiotic than usual finale I'm done even if it does come back.

John Irving. The Cider House Rules was the first book of his I've read and I loved it, it's still one of my favorites. I've never been able to make through another one of his novels though I've tried several times.

I'm in the middle of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? It's the basis for the classic film but delves more into the sisters individual stories and helps flesh out the characters. So far it's good albeit disturbing and sad.

It looks pretentious and striving too hard to be making a statement. That's a shame since its got quite a cast and I'm glad to see Sandler doing something serious.

They don't usually change the Summer Under the Stars lineup but probably during the first week of September they'll do a tribute day.

Olivia and Doris Day are probably the most iconic left but Kim Novak, Debbie Reynolds, Arlene Dahl and a few others are still standing.

Debbie Reynolds, a huge star in her day, is still with us and still working bless her. Long may she and Angela be with us.

She had a big life, far more exciting and eventful than most of us could ever dream of having, and I doubt that she missed anything but it's tough to see a legendary performer take her final bow. It sounds like she went quickly which if ya gotta go is the best way. Thanks Betty for all the wonderful performances.

I've always liked The Ring-a-Ding Girl. It's not a classic like the Inger Stevens Hitch-Hiker episode or some of the others but it has an spectral quality that can be unsettling and Maggie McNamara plays the lead with a nice sense of ambivalence. Knowing her real life fate adds a layer of eerieness to the episode just

The Days of Anna Madrigal by Armistad Maupin. I didn't love it quite as much as Mary Ann in Autumn but it was a fine wrap up to the Tales of the City series. Otherwise I've been trying to catch up on some classics, Gatsby, My Antonia etc. that I missed during school house days so haven't read many new books this year.

A very interesting examination of the scene. I have to say that all the times I've watched this, and it's been many, I'm always so focus on the story of the film by the time we get to this scene I didn't take a great deal of note of the surrounding hubbub. I'll have to watch the whole film again with more awareness of

It's hardly a new trend for pop culture to influence children's names. If you don't believe me ask any 80 year old Shirley you meet where her name came from.

Gosh he was everywhere in the 60's and 70's but still popped up here and there between voice over gigs after that. I remember him among other things as the MC on New Year's Eve before the big flip in The Poseidon Adventure.
