"The two and one-half hour inaugural parade was witnessed by an estimated 1 million persons, of whom 60,000 were in the grandstand in seats ranging in price from $3 to $15, according to location. About 22,000 service men and women and 5,000 civilians were in the parade, which included 50 state and organization floats

it actuall looks like one of their mi-17s what with the external hard points. this photo is from the 2011 uprising.

Modern NVG devices are automatically gated. You're not blinded by (and the equipment does not fail due to) street lights, aircraft strobes, search lights, muzzle flare and so on. binocular anvis mounted nvg are compatible with other eyewear and visors, which of course gets us back to laser eye protection.

Energy striking the optic nerve is what matters. That energy is clearly in several rather narrow bands given the sources.

The egyptian government is no doubt aware of the risks posed to pilots observing/policing civil disobediance activities. refering to my original observation:

Wavelength is relevant because the pilot would like to be able to see the interments, fly the aircraft and so forth. you can clearly filter 100% of the light arrving at your retinas by putting on blinders. the goal of laser eyewear either for pilots military and lab applications is to retain the use of your eyes

You don't know what you're talking about. a laser beam is already spatially coherent (e.g. it is focused). It's the energy on the receiving end that does the damage. filters applied to particular wavelengths where lasers operate. e.g. 450 532 635 will prevent energy in those wavelengths from reaching your eyes.

The green is 532nm and the blue is 450nm. given appropriate protection there is no danger to the pilots at those wavelengths.

not sure I'd bash the OEM tires on the fit so much. dunlap sp31 a/s is not what I'd call cheap and nasty.

alstom arabelle steam turbine. 900-1800MW

You would think given the CLS that they would actually step up to something a bit more slippery.

well also remember an imperial gallon is 4.546l and a us gallon is 3.79l

these pressure cylinders look intact, they're still attached to their footings.

It was assembled in Uusikaupunki, Finland which has more than enough cold weather for testing.

Given the improvement for emissions and efficiency for what otherwise tend to be indifferent shitboxes it's sort of hard to imagine why traditional autos for low output engines still exist. the 6t40 in the chevy cruze for example is certainly better than some older gm products but why isn't it a cvt?

It's entertainment, not a review.

I don't see 12 year old lexus ls400 on the list. at around 3k miles a year he's not going to need another one.

Yes, Scion was supposed to appeal to the yoof market. Who the actual buyers of scion Xbs appear to be are 70 year old asia men.

linking images is pretty much failing at this point.
