“In fact, the only Nazis she associated with were her relatives”

I’m actually kind of glad it doesn’t just fix the game. It’d be almost worse if it did.

I agree. Despite the most fervent wishes of progressives, Democrats cannot govern the country solely on Blue State support. The math doesn’t work. Conservative red-state Democrats are a requirement.

Steadysoul,

Fair enough. I’ll readily grant you that if I bellowed GAME STREAMING IS STUPID from the employment of a game-streaming company, that’d probably be reason to get canned.

When the death of TotalBiscuit from cancer is given as a reason for her firing, we can talk about it. It wasn’t.

What good is this guy if he reliably votes with the GOP??

But Manchin still can’t do a damn thing about his confirmation. And neither can Schumer.

Manchin has every reason to vote for Kavanaugh, given that a vote against him is a vote to replace him with a Republican in the midterms.

You know Amnesty International just released a report on torture and forced disappearances by US allies Saudi Arabia and the UAE (mostly the UAE) in southern Yemen?

So you see the question of censorship as hinging solely on the question of external force — force of law, physical force, etc. Gotcha.

“Self-censorship isn’t real. It’s not a thing.”

There’s a term for this. It’s called the euphemism treadmill. And as words become non-offensive, we use them again. Phrases like “No can do,” or “Long time, no see,” may have originally begun as a way of mocking Chinese people for pidgin English. A “basket case” didn’t used to mean someone who was mentally ill or

if we want to give Price a pass because developers should not be on perpetual call to deal with the public, shouldn’t that courtesy be extended to all the other targets of our collective outrage, like those racist goobers who get fired because someone gets a cellphone video of them calling the cops on a black family

I feel like this neatly encapsulates a major problem with Twitter, and I see this argument erupting almost instantly in the Tweet Nathan linked above. Is a post made to a publicly viewable account public (and therefore worthy of random comment) or is it her expressing her own private views?

“but I really don’t think there’s a way to “sneak in” an anti-choice SCOTUS candidate.”

Well, if nothing else, Chuck Schumer, Senate Assassin could make for a great YouTube series. ;)

Let me say up-front that I want you to be right. I absolutely, 100% do. I want to believe that Murkowski and/or Collins will step in to save Roe.

It simply makes good sense to run more conservative Democrats in red states and less conservative ones in blue states. And to give those Democrats freedom to vote against (or for) certain things when it won’t change the overall outcome *because* it’s a way to avoid alienating red state voters who might permanently
