As for the her acting, that's more a problem of the director and script.  If you compare clone wars, rebels to mandalorian, the most jarring difference is the lack of dialogue in the mandalorian.  Without dialogue for the actor express themselves, it difficult.  I think look wise Dawson looks like an older grown up…
