I think you’re right for the most part, but have you ever seen an adaptation that works more as a companion to the original? Something like Cronenberg’s Naked Lunch, where he adapts elements of Burroughs’ real life into the story. It’s interesting if you’re familiar with the book, because it turns it on its head.

I’ve seen a lot of people on the internet surmise the infection started with tainted flour. All the main characters avoid flower. They had no flour so they end up making eggs for breakfast rather than pancakes. Sarah decides not to eat the cookies because of the raisins (the camera also oddly lingers on the cookies

Liam Neeson punches a wolf...off screen

One thing about the game, if you come up on any NPCs talking, like even if they are ones that you have to interact with, if they are already talking... it goes on forever and its incredible. Like you can just listen to the NPCs talk for ages if you want.

Universal Studios’s MO seems to be to have themed land areas, e.g. Harry Potter World is no larger than a “land” at Disneyland, and this looks like it’ll be the same thing. They don’t have a ton of space there, so they have to cram everything in.

I’m so disgusted with Florida I don’t even want my tires touching it.

At least they let people drink at the Golden Globes

“I don’t think the Americans should be moral arbiters for the rest of the world.”

The flip side of “There’s dragons and orcs, why can’t there be Black people? This is a made up story and doesn’t represent reality, you can do whatever you want!” is “There’s dragons and orcs, why does there HAVE to be Black people? This is a made up story and doesn’t represent reality, you can do whatever you want!”

The truly baffling American desire to police other countries.

And you’re not funny.

Thanks for your insight from the retail side of things!

I think that they learned what a lot of business’s did during the pandemic. Supply shortages aren’t a cause for reduced profit.

The Talented Mr. Fischer 😉

As Ovy points out, that is Magnus Carlsen. However, the Damon resemblance has not gone unnoticed - ChessBase.com even suggested they were cousins for an April Fool’s article some years back!

Based on the header photo alone, and not reading the article, I’m going to believe that Matt Damon has an evil twin that specializes in cheating at chess.

Thats the things that mystifies me. I bought Trader Joes insulated bags and keep them in my trunk for years before the bans on anything simply because

The ban also includes paper bags in larger supermarkets here in NJ.

the people on the local news stations in NJ bitching about the ban sound like idiots... on top of being wasteful with their $ paying for all those “reusable” bags. “I have a 100 bags” = You wasted 99 bucks.
