There’s probably some metric they go by that tracks what games and topics gets the most traffic, which determines what articles gets published. It’s the reason we get 50 CoD and Spider-Man articles and nothing on indie games.

Most of my friend’s would consider themselves casual fans. They just don’t care as much as the minutiae or the lore. That is certainly an opinion, but it might change had you actually played his games. Regardless of his methodology and justification for some out-there ideas, his titles are technical marvels and quite ground breaking for the medium.
