This. I think because the art style, and game’s demeanor are not commonly associated with psychological horror, it really burrows itself under your skin.

If you have the means, you should definitely track them down. I loved the investigation portions of the game. Still very unique by today’s standards, holds up well.

Agreed, that was what I loved about 2, gameplay-wise. Depending on how you played, James came out really horribly, to redeemable, to sympathetic. You were molding the outcome without really knowing it, until the end.

I had the same similar experience with Homecoming. I decided to give Downpour a chance due to the decent reviews at the time. No, Downpour can’t hold a candle to the original 3, but it is leagues better than Homecoming. One aspect that always brought it down a notch to me were the enemies. They felt generic compared

For me TEW is more sci-fi, due to the mind experiments and such. I wish the horror was more abstract and vague. That’s what I loved about the Silent Hills games. Although I will have to give the gameplay nod to TEW over SH. SH felt a bit sloppy in that department to me.

Well...now I’ve found the perfect picture to share for Valentine’s Day...

Agreed. I love FEAR, but I was also thought it got less scary as the lore got deeper. Once we started to find out more about ALMA, it started to feel like a sci-fi shooter.

“I thought about how long I’d been caught up in Far Cry’s cyclical violence and formulaic gameplay”

I saw a couple really helpful videos on youtube that got me to really see the patterns and workings of the game, and helped me get over the initial shock of seeing a zombie in the dark hallways. I can’t find it at the moment, but they’re a series of “mythbusting” videos that show you how zombies and Mr. X react. It

I was hoping the guy wanted arrest him, simply for chance to call him John Cougar Prisoncamp

...I would be very afraid of his children,

If you like RE1, RE2, I would also recommend REZero and Code: Veronica. I like them a hell of a lot more than RE3, RE5 and RE6. RE7 is actually a great game to jump into without having played the previous games. It’s almost made to a clean starting point for the franchise.

My hope with Venum Rex and the secret ending, is that in subsequent KH games we find out that Sora and crew are actually from the world of Venum Rex, and that all the Square Enix games and worlds connect just like the Disney worlds do. I was wondering why there was huge lack of the FF characters in this game, and it

When I played KH2, I was living at my parents house and my niece and nephew who were in grade school watched me play, while they spent weekends at our house. Now playing KH3 in my apartment, My niece just graduated college and my nephew is in his freshman year at NYU.

They’re handing out copies to the homeless now too.

“sluggish but fun”

Can you turn on Aim-assist on Normal? I want to try it out first, but don’t want to have to commit to Easy.

I’m not positive, I actually learned about the “2nd run” from the Polygon review. They didn’t mention if a 3rd play through changed anything.

I read in another review, that the inverse is the same if you start the game as Claire. When you beat the game with your character, you get a “2nd run” scenario, where you play the other character’s version of the events. 2nd run’s will last around 3 hours. If you start as Leon, Claire’s 2nd run will be 3 hours. Same

I don’t believe so, the scripts are changed, and none of the original voice actors were asked to return. They went with non-union voice actors this time around. The original music is an option on some versions of the game though(or it might’ve been a pre-order bonus).
