The centerpiece of the weekend was a boozy binge watch of the first season of Danger 5, which just absolutely hit almost every comedy sweet spot my friends and I have. We're probably going to get into season 2 pretty soon, but I'm kind of worried about the time jump. If anyone's seen it, how does the shift to the

See, Joel, Kevin and Trace was always my favorite lineup. Trace has been in Joel's camp for quite I while, I guess I figured him collaborating with Mike and co. meant everyone had patched things up. Apparently not.

I was aware of that in the general sense, but I figured if Trace was going to be doing something with the Rifftrax guys he'd get in the mix too.

The idea of Kevin Murphy and Trace Beaulieu riffing together again is almost wonderful enough to distract me from wondering WHERE THE HELL IS JOEL.

I'm all over that Albert Hammond Jr. disc. That would probably make my top ten formative albums list, if I were to put the time into figuring out such a thing.

Uuuugh, this sat on my Netflix list for months and I never got to it. Now I'm dying to see it and they've taken it down.

Didn't realize they were actually setting this in New York. Can't wait to smugly point out all the stuff that was obviously shot in Boston to whoever will listen.

Seeing Jakku in the new one really underlines the fact that Tatooine could be a whole lot worse.

When did the term "Mandalorian" first come into play, anyway? 1994 sounds early to me.

Catching up on Best Picture nominees. Saw Mad Max, The Revenant, and Spotlight in theaters when they actually came out, so this weekend it's been The Martian and Bridge of Spies. Going to do Room this afternoon. Probably won't make it to The Big Short and Brooklyn. I thought The Martian and Bridge of Spies were both

Huh, I guess you're right. I was under the impression they split the writing with Hawley on that first season.

Listening to that Juno song makes 2016 me want to shove 2007 me into a locker.

Didn't the Coens write half of season 1?

So I really liked two of these episodes ("Founder's Mutation" and "Mulder & Scully Meet the Were-monster"), thought two were really boring ("Home Again" and "Babylon"), found "My Struggle I" to be a hot mess of the entertaining variety, and thought "My Struggle II" was just bad. Not sure how to score this at all.

YES PLEASE.

Films:

So "Ballers' Rob Corddry" is a joke in its own right at this point, right?

I saw part of the film of The Name of the Rose in a Gothic art class two years ago and immediately went out and bought a copy of the book, but I never got around to it. I think now I'm going to make a point of reading it soon.

Is Gus's ex the girl from the AT&T commercials? IMDB is being uncharacteristically unhelpful.

Anyone know if the Criterion edition is a new transfer or if it's the same as the current Blu-ray?
