So my two questions remain:

I am so very tired of this discussion. How is there anyone out there who is not?

Forgive me if you already knew this but the whole series was meant to only be 12 episodes so they tried to cover a lot of stuff that of course they had to resolve really really quickly. Had they known there would've been a second season, I'm sure it would've ended better.

As far as I understand, they did it that way because they weren't sure there was going to be a 2nd season, and they didn't want the show to end on a cliff hanger or with any loose threads.
