To this day, my dad still refers to Shelley Duvall as “Olive Oyl.” For the longest time I didn’t know what the hell he was talking about and just thought he was making a weird comparison. I finally ended up seeing this movie one night and realized that he wasn’t comparing her to a cartoon.

If there’s anything I’ve learned in my relatively short tenure reading the comments here at Deadspin, it’s that if there’s a weird way to do a relatively mundane thing, people do it.
