I believe the show runners realize that what they're presenting is essentially the end of childhood. I think that's why Hannah's pregnancy is an almost necessary destination for the story arc of the the series.

Has there been any greater volume of exposition on any group than 20-30 somethings in NYC? I like your comment but that last part made me tilt my head.
