you cant include selena gomez in that ensemble - shes brutal and distracting in her performance.

the only one i found emotionally compelling was the final one. i found the acting to the be the most rigid and stoic of any of his films. at least in bottlerocket, rushmore and tennebaums people acted, for the most part, like people not statues.

i remember hearing “muse is the next radiohead” and then it was the doves, then snow patrol, gomez, keane, grandaddy here in the US blah blah blah. 

remember when that was said about every british band?

saw this last night. the film is his most gorgeous. the sets are incredible. the way he shifts from film to cartoon to stage is remarkable.

theres a book called everythin bad is good for you. it explains the evolution of tv shows form being linear to having multiple storylines. a 30m sitcom having as many tangents as it did was almost unheard of. not to mention having a clear resolution at the end where many of them tie together.
