I remember liking it a lot. It felt more like a PKD adaptation than any actual PKD adaptation I've ever seen.

Does he still celebrate Yom Kippur? Don't you have to renounce all other faith when you become a Juggalo?

As somebody who grew up in Jersey less than 20 minutes drive away from Atlantic City, this whole thing has been a horrifying reminder that the rest of the country doesn't know that much about him. He's been a joke around here my entire life, and not in a way that's divisive along party lines.

The ironic thing is that Beck has always struck me as a Trump type. I don't get the impression that he has actual moral convictions in the same way somebody like O'Reilly does, he's just a sociopathic troll who will do anything to get attention. He probably just realized that, at this point, endorsing Hillary is about

One of the worst parts of the last debate for Clinton was when she gave the answer about one positive thing she could think of pertaining to Trump. Instead of giving some smug backhanded compliment just say what you're thinking: no. There is nothing positive I can come up with about the stupid racist bloodfart that is

I'm liking this because I hope you're right and all the Trump supporters online are just stupid fifteen-year-olds who can't vote anyway. I try to limit my reddit use strictly to subs with a myopic focus on some nerdy bullshit, but every time the discussion veers into politics I have a minor panic attack and have to

What's funny about this to me is it kind of echoes Aquinas' argument for God's existence; we view things on a scale from good to bad, so there must be something perfect at the end of the spectrum we're comparing things to that is so fucking awesome it literally can't not exist. Basically just replace God with VR in

Oh yeah. And how about those scary clowns in congress? What a bunch of scary clowns.

Topical!

I call mine Dolly Parton because it's workin' 9 to 5!

I'd be much more interested in seeing this if it were a sort of Air Bud-esque revival where Godzilla somehow gets drafted onto a middle school soccer team.

"Breaking character" isn't exactly what I was looking for. I mean breaking the mad scientist schtick to deliver corny asides. But yeah, you're right that it's consistent enough to be part of the character.

He's pretty emblematic of why a lot of the humor falls flat. The mad scientist parody villain is such a rote character, and they can't think of an interesting spin to put on him so they just give him a stupid name and make him break character as a gag all the time.

I've never seen this show, but that Gene Gene clip is fucking delightful!

A while ago people kept saying it's the heir to Spongebob/Adventure Time/whatever kids cartoon adults can enjoy, but I just can't get into it. It seems like these shows always fall into two categories: surreally humorous in a way that can appeal to any age, or the more standard kids show with adult references added

Surely this isn't true of everything? Surely, there are some symbols so sacrosanct, so pure, that they cannot be altered to become signifiers of hate?

I think the fact that it's written about such a crap movie actually makes it funnier.

My favorite Popeyes in Brooklyn is always blasting zydeco into the street. I'll be eating there tonight in remembrance, soaking up my tears with a butter biscuit.

I think the idea itself is fine, but they need to get an interviewer who's going to play devil's advocate, even if it's only jokingly. It's really annoying when they just agree with everything.
