I’d read the shit out of that. There’s so many movies that go into each year looking like they’ll own and either tank hard or disappoint badly.

Tom, if you’re looking for a follow-up feature as you enter the home stretch with this one, may I suggest a year by year breakdown of the biggest film financial failures (i.e. greatest difference between budget and return). You can call it The Popcorn Chumps.
Just what Fox needs to ramp up its annual “War on Christmas” rhetoric.
Better yet, just take the flags down off all the flagpoles surrounding the plaza and voila, a veritable sea of Festivus poles around which to air the many, many grievances we have this year.
Just find a spot and plant a damn tree there, FFS. Let it grow, and decorate it every year, like millions of other trees inside city limits across the country.
Even as a kid I thought it was pretty shitty to cut down such a huge, old, and healthy tree for this bullshit.
Chopping down the tree with that owl in it as well as transporting the tree/owl is a violation of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. There are generally significant penalties that go along with that but the Trump Administration has been desperately trying to make it easier to violate this law without penalty.
Just design a big honkin’ ecumenical winter holiday symbol and make it out of plastic waste. That is plastic waste mined from the several or many landfills from which New York City solid waste gets transferred to. Reuse it each winter or have a new one designed and built each year. New York is known for its design…
For all the good this article will do, it might as well be titled “defund Christmas.”
He is amazing. He was the first person to make me appreciate the director of a film instead of the actors.
Jarmusch direct one of my all time favourite films: Night on Earth. It doesn’t get nearly the credit it deserves for its brilliance.
I hope I can speak for all the adults in the room who still regress to 12 year-old humor with a good ole hearty “Johnny DERP!!!”
At this point, they should just cancel the franchise. The second movie was poorly received. The third movie needed a major rewrite. JK Rowling came out as a proud bigot. COVID halted filming. Now Depp is fired (and the producers all have egg on their face).
I was going to say that now the actor who played the Younger Grindelwald (Jamie Bower) could be aged up by make-up and play the Older Grindelwald. But then I saw your reminder of how terrible Rowling is and thought that Bower should stay away from it.
It was pretty minor, but I just wrote about it in a response to another post in this thread.
I don’t really have any good stories, but he was a super-nice, down-to-earth guy. I had seen Stranger Than Paradise when I was 18 and became an immediate fan! My sister works in the film industry and was working on the movie and got me a brief job as a PA in Oregon.
I would much rather hear about your interactions with Jim Jarmusch!
I would be too! Happy to hear all the Jim Jarmusch stories.
For the record, I was much more star-struck by Jim Jarmusch, and still cherish those memories!
I was always of the belief that both Depp and Heard are terrible people, but as the court case went on, it became pretty clear that Depp took the abuse past emotional levels, and into physical territory. And then the stories of drug abuse and alcoholism painted a picture of someone who may not have been abusive in the…
