This is a serious question that is in no way meant to offend: I struggle with understanding how people of color can make movies that won’t just be seen as a “Black Movie” or something like that. For instance, a movie with a super interesting diverse cast that appeals to everyone and is made for everyone’s enjoyment.

You know what I would love? More movies with black people just being people. Like dramas, character pieces, etc., with black people just being normal people, you know, like we are in real life. Not “black movies” (stay away Tyler Perry. Stay far, far away). Not slavery movies. Not Straight Outta Compton. Not Boyz in
