I guess I just don't understand why they wouldn't just pick up where they left off next season then do a time skip after the first arc to get them into 2021 or wherever they want them to be. I can't see Riverdale writers wanting to skip over all these events.

This, in our fallen world, was probably as good as it was going to get. Much like watching the Farscape or Firefly movies to get some kind of closure, albeit truncated and full of the shimmering mirage of What Could Have Been, I think they did what they could.

If you’re right (and I believe you are) about Charles, then he’s playing the most ridiculously long con to get revenge on behalf of his boyfriend. Do you think this entire ridiculous plot started before he applied to Quantico? Or has he been faking the entire FBI affiliation through some epically ridiculous

It’s funny that despite whatever scheme Charles has in the shadows, he still dutifully helps Betty with all this. After the info dump and the reset with Jughead returning to school, I half expected a scene with Charles and Chet where he’s like, “Now that THAT’s over with, time for revenge!”

I laughed so hard when Kevin just randomly showed up at the end as if he some main character. Why hasnt the actor left yet? lol how much they paying him?

It’s shocking, but the shock doesn’t last as long as it would with a proper buildup.

The entire charade is just an excuse to tease the Betty-Archie-Veronica love triangle central to the comics which this CW adaptation inexplicably echewed.

I haven’t watched this show since the first season, but I appreciate keeping up with the batshit plots through these recaps. It’s still weird to me that Jughead and Betty are a thing, but, hey, cute, I guess. After all, he’s weird, he’s a weirdo, but it seems like everyone else is weirder and more of a weirdo than

I’ve been thinking that maybe POSSIBLY the way this is all undone, is that this murder story is actually Jughead’s Baxter brothers story that he is writing. Or he’s really dead....I guess we’ll just have to keep tuning in to see

If Jugdead has a twin that shows up, I hope he constantly eats hamburgers, is asexual, and is also called Jughead.

That is completely ridiculous. I hope they do this.

The only way I’m seeing to salvage this storyline: Jughead really is dead and he allowed himself to be murdered in a way that would give Betty the chance to charge the Stonewall Preppers with the crime. They spend the rest of the season serving justice and then do a musical version of Jughead’s writings to honor him.

if bret has videos of everyone doing it, doesn’t that mean he’s in possession of child porn?

I think I’ve managed to put a finger on my issues with the Stonewall storyline. It is over the top and unrealistic, yes, but so is pretty much everything in Riverdale - the problem is that it doesn’t really have the same touches of the fantastic and/or camp that Riverdale’s other excesses have had that made them feel

She likes it when she consents to it, homie.

That was a terrific episode.

Overlooked in this discussion is Beth’s voicemail message when Jerry called, indicated that he reache her voicemail because he wasn’t in her contacts, and not to leave a message...

I like that the unstoppable corrective force to any advanced civilization conducting warfare across time-and-space ...

“I’m only here because I have a certain power I wanted to kinda celebrate before it goes away.”

The best bit is still the snake alphabet being variations on the letter “s,” which pays off in the Lincoln assassination attempt.
