I’ve been saying this for a while now..Tesla’s are the EV equivalent to muscle cars. Horrible overall quality, phenomenal powertrain and image.

Yep. 15mm on one end and 10mm on the other!
More likely keeping the owner of a $80 - $100K vehicle happy so they keep buying expensive Chevy vehicles.
No, Tesla didn’t do anything like that. The rear glass was replaced under warranty but it took 3 - 4 weeks and he was just without the vehicle for that time. No loaner or anything.
I’m willing to believe communist China is monitoring such references within and outside their borders. I’m willing to believe they would do unscrupulous things. I’d even be willing to believe they would take action against some random commenter on Jalopnik. But the idea that China could get kinja to work is a step too…
A friend of mine who is a legit Tech Bro(created start ups), has been a Tesla owner from the start. At one point he owned 3 Teslas at the same time(X, S and 3).
Ex Tesla Owner here. Can confirm.
Accord Hybrid seems to do alright.
It was just recently that I began to appreciate the Tesla hate. A bunch of my co-workers drive them and while i was outside during lunch, I examined the cars as inconspicuously as possible. Holy mackerel, the fit and finish is terrible on all three of the Teslas that I looked at. The most glaring issue was the fitment…
Panel gaps are down to from 15mm to 10mm.
Thanks! I’ll try to be cool, unless the Nightman Cometh
Really? They should ignore the very newsworthy incident where a car with no (apparent) human driver crashed into a tree and could not be extinguished for over four hours and instead only cover something like tire compounds? I’m not necessarily saying the tire article shouldn’t be a thing, even though the topic has…
Thanks! :)
Why call out Tesla for these types of crashes, for all you ignorant folks who think Jalopnik lives and dies by hating Tesla:
Riveting pieces about obscure tail lights no less!
I work on regulatory/policy issues for a self-driving company (not Tesla). From my vantage point, the rest of the industry is sick of the misrepresentation and wink-wink-nudge-nudge about the capabilities of Tesla’s “FSD” or “Autopilot” tech, which very well may deliver on what’s been promised. Look at how many other…
Same lol, I’ve been stuck in the greys for like 3 years :(
You’re responding to an author who regularly has articles about obscure tail lights... Your point doesn’t land well here.
This site is also realistic that Teslas are good EVs. Bradley wrote an article about how good the Model Y is as an EV. Jason wrote an article attributing Tesla for removing the public’s stigma about electric vehicles and making them mainstream.
Thanks for writing this out, Jason; I’m sure a thick skin is needed in web journalism (“web” was probably unnecessary there) but it rankled me to see people attacking Elizabeth so vociferously. A statement in the form of a standalone article is well-appreciated.
