If you care about that, then you should probably be buying your content on UHD discs instead of streaming. I doubt you would be able to notice the difference on Netflix.
I had to turn my brightness up a bit and adjust my contrast. the “default” picture setting was too dark (out of the box, Samsung un65KS8000, “Standard” picture mode with “Game mode” enabled”). Once I adjusted the brightness, backlight and contrast, I got MORE detail in the shadows than I did with HDR turned off.
Disconnect the set from the internet and dont use the “smart” features. You could use another device (Roku 4 or Nvidia Shield) for 4k streaming. That would be the only way to bypass their ads.
You cant say there is not enough content. Have you even LOOKED at the number of UHD titles on Netflix lately??? There are well over 100 titles on Netflix ALONE! Not to mention Amazon’s stuff and YouTube content.

Depends on if the game (and the console!) support HDR output. A game like Horizon: Zero Dawn in 4k/HDR is MIND BLOWING compared to 1080p/SDR!
Yes! It does have good HDR! To get it though, you have to go into the settings and enable “UHD color” for the input you are using with a UHD/HDR signal. If you are using the internal apps, like Netflix, HDR will be enabled automatically when you select a title with that content.
Play Wipeout Omega in 4k with HDR color enabled. There is your reason to upgrade...or Horizon Zero Dawn if racing games aren’t your cuppa.
