F1 is in an odd spot in it's life right now. Everybody expects to see the pinnacle of technology as it pertains to racing. Everybody thinks this should result in good racing. But the problem is that is doesn't. So then F1 changes it's rules to reduce cost so that all the teams can play along which in turn reduces

Yeah, and right now this car doesn't even exist. The whole God damned thing is a fucking assumption.

I don't think you get it. THIS CAR HAS NOT BEEN MADE. IT IS A CONCEPT CAR. If it is built it will be built on a MQB platform, JUST LIKE THE NEXT GENERATION PASSAT.

You mustn't be from around here. The Audi A7 is an MLB platform car (longitudinally mounted engine), the article clearly states that this Skoda is an MQB platform car which the MK8 Passat will be as well.

While I'm on this subject, why the hell would anyone think Skoda is the cool VW brand? They are just VWs stripped down, cheapened, and rebadged as Skodas. You Jalopnik staff are a picky bunch, you think VW is going to shit because they've gone bland and cheap and yet all you want is the cheapest blandest thing VW

Come on.. this is just a rebadged VW Passat CC.

I think you all mean a JIF. I'm not familiar with this GIF file of which you speak...

There's no money in it. They've built 11 but plan to do 30. Sure... when 30 of these are sold for $1M+ each I'll shave my head.

Consider previous years. Engines being run at wide open throttle for 50-60% of the race between 15,000 and 18,000 RPM. A few extra seconds of part throttle near redline isn't going to make any difference. These are race engines and they are meant to be run near redline.

It's weight well shed from North Carolina is what it is.

That's OK, it was pretty clear that you meant University of South Carolina. That Californian probably didn't know the capital of South Carolina.

Proving that VW/Audi really don't need to bring the S1 to the US. More expensive, less power, less utility... That ain't gonna sell.

And it doesn't sell well (allegedly) in the US. But yes, I agree with all your points.

So you've seen the design and can comment on what it looks like? For all we know it is front engine...

I sense another Answer of the Day with only 7 answers...

The only thing worse than arbitrary dates for requiring snow tires on cars is not requiring snow tires at all, as Thoushalthoonthyrallyetyres explains.

Shit... a "normal" T6 model is in that price range. This will be $60k if I had to guess...

+1,000,000. These cars are atrocious and should not have been named Monte Carlo (not that Monte Carlo was ever a particularly historic car, that's just how bad this car is).

These are EPA numbers, not RAM numbers. Generally speaking these are numbers are fairly accurate for a normal driver. If other diesel fuel efficiency number are compared hypermiling will see significantly better than 28mpg.

Haha, I'll go with half-eaten human...
