I'm totally with you except for the "big heavy engine" part. That's still a holdover from people who think diesels belong in trucks. Car diesels are no heavier than their gasoline powered cousins (provided they are the same size, turbocharged, etc).

Yeah.. I dunno where he got that from. Hell most diesels have significantly larger sumps (but that's purely because most diesels are truck engines).
Considering a S60 AWD T6 R-design starts at $42,700, I'm thinking the V60 Polestar will be $55k+
I assume if you have to ask the price it's too expensive for you?
A but extravagant isn't it??
I'm sure they can... I have other reservations though. Particularly, just because previous years' engines could rev to 22k doesn't mean that these could. These engines are built to such specific tolerances that they wouldn't have the need to handle 22k anymore...
Can't imagine they would have developed an ECU just so they could rev an extra 4,000 RPM after the season ended...
Caterham also revved the nuts off of their Renault engine, also with the 18,000 rpm limiter removed.
Well if you had given 110% you should have gotten a 4.4 GPA. I'd say you lacked a bit in math. :)
Hardly elegant... That means you now have to replace three wipers instead of only two. An elegant fix would be to have the wipers have some horizontal movement when it wipes. That is not a groundbreaking idea...
What the hell for? Seems like lazy engineering to me...
The production version doesn't have three windscreen wipers does it?!
My problem with the argument that "I can maintain consistent speed" is what that means for the person's attention.
At least you own up to it! :)
You? I can't hate you, it's not your fault. I had a car with no cruise control and it sucks. It's the people who make the conscious decision to NOT use cruise control that really get my gander.
Exactly, nobody means to do it. Using cruise control is the only cure.
I don't think deviating 1-2mph is a really big deal
You're not superman, you can't keep the same speed (+ or - 1MPH) for more than a few miles. Just start using cruise control and save the rest of us from having stop using ours.
You're the person on the interstate whom I hate! Varying speed all the time, never knowing how fast you want to go.
I was at this race and it was still totally worth going. To hear those V10s with traction control struggling to put the power down was something amazing. They were more like musical instruments than racing engines.
