Because it was knowingly altered and probably for resale. You can import an unapproved car for show use (and have limited number of miles per year). But that's not what the importer of the Land Rover did.

He's not the dickhead here. He answered my main question "Why destroy it? Why not just re-export it?" Because it was altered, somebody knowingly changed the VIN to try to get it imported into the US. If it hadn't been altered then it probably would have been sent back to whence it came.
What's the Mustang doing there?
Uff... too soon?
That looks incredibly difficult... How many containers can you put on a barge and why do so many containers need to be moved from place to place within the harbour? I assumed containers got on a boat only for long distance transport. Obviously that is not the case!
The reason there are so many answers is because it's hard to tell if anybody has replied because NONE of them have been approved comments yet. So it appears as if nobody has replied to the question yet. But, for some reason, your's does appear as an approved comment...
I live on Six Forks and went to NCState (graduated '04) as well.. I'm from Western NC so am familiar with a lot of roads that may as well be Tail of the Dragon so I've never been there myself... :) Hell yes Carolina sucks, Coach K blows, and I had seen somewhere that Torchinsky was from Greensboring.
I remember that coming up in the news (I also live in Raleigh). Whatever happened to it? Did they get rid of it? Study it with the science??
Who ever said they stopped the car? This is Russia we're talking about...
And maybe change the title to "Ten Cars Non-Car People Can't Help But Love." Striking out the "Even" because having it in the title insinuates that car people also love the cars.
Yep, my family has always used 1:1 Rubbing Alcohol:White Vinegar. It helps dry out the ears and keep the pH low in the ear so infections have a harder time getting started...
$1M before taxes. After broker fees from the auction and taxes from the profits ($1,000,000 - $100) he'll probably only get $300k-$400k. Nothing to laugh at, but it's also probably not going to change his life too much unless he was homeless to begin with.
Ahhh... that shit is hilarious.
Good luck selling that hunk of shit!
I have a tremendously hard time discerning a new 3-series from a new 5-series from more than 100 feet away. And the same for a 5-series to a 7-series.
No.
An Audi R18 would also like to disagree, but the GTD is neither of those.
DPF and EGR, sure. But getting rid of the PCV? I think not. You will have some major issues in the future my friend. Now if you mean that you just filtered it before it got to the intake, OK. I'm down with that. :)
I think they do, yes. But VW spends tons of R&D making sure their engine maps aren't going to clog the DPF prematurely. Can all the tuner guys say the same thing? Don't get me wrong, I like most of the tuning companies (and the independent guys too), but they are rarely concerned about keeping a DPF working for…
Having driven diesel VWs for the past 15 years, I can guarantee you that it is aerodynamically limited to that speed. Hell, I'm impressed it's that high! At that RPM torque is on it's way down and air friction is on it's way up. When diesels hit the aero limited speed it's a bit different than gas engined cars…
