Looking at this just as a puzzle, because I don’t really care for the car, it would have been easily solved if the owner just kept the original wheels with a tall pair of tires on them. The car would then easily fit through the fenders of the trailer. That solves one of the problems.

What do you mean class 3 went away in the 70s because of safety regulations? What regulations? Jeep used them from 2008-2012 on the Liberty.
