Content is king. The less of it, the more grinding is necessary. No one ever thinks to use the players to generate content, or have dynamic content based on players actions/inactions but whatever.

No way, open world single player RPGs are nothing like MMOs and absolutely do not scratch the same itch, as evidenced by Final Fantasy and TES both having separate MMOs apart from the single player traditional stuff.
What you are describing is really an idle RPG. As a fully grown adult with too many adulting things on my plate, idle RPGs sate the itch without requiring me to understand a plethora of twitch mechanics and one off situations. Log in, configure the strategy, do some light maintenance, and off they go.
“only re-sub after major content drops.”
Absolutely fucking love this game. It’s the first MMO I’ve ever played that truly respects your time. Just hit level 39 last night.
MMO’s really need to trend towards not requiring you to grind for several hours to progress, even at end game. I love em, but I’m long past those days of not giving a shit what I do with my free time. This probably applies to games in general, but whatever.
Yeah, there’s definitely a critical mass of worthwhile content on Netflix at this point. On Netflix, my personal shows include Stranger Things, Kimmy Schmidt, Bojack, Black Mirror, the new MST3K, all the Marvel shows (excepting Iron Fist) and Master of None, plus there’s a bunch of others I’m planning to try (Narcos,…
If you don’t think the content on Netflix is worth your 14 dollars and there is something better you can get for 14 dollars, cool. But Personally I think that sounds ludicrous.
Follow-up:
It’s only 14 dollars still?
Amazon tablets are mediocre crap and I’m not going to buy one just because Amazon has this stupid strategy. They’re absolutely trying to drive sales with it, but that doesn’t mean I have to go along with it.
This is probably why they keep raising prices.
My error, I wasn’t specific enough. When I search using the search field at the top, the default is all of Amazon Video, unless I use the drop down to select Prime only. In my happy place, I would be able to make that the default without all the variables.
When was the last time you opened up Netflix to find something truly incredible and unique to watch?
I really like Netflix television series: Orange is the New Black, Stranger Things, Sense8 are all amongst my favorite shows. The movie offerings are less satisfying.
Amazon Prime video is lovely and all, especially since I was paying for Prime before they had video included with it.
It’s completely the result of market fragmentation and exclusivity deals. The film selection on Netflix in Canada is much better than in the U.S., but then Canada doesn’t have a million different streaming services either. There’s only so much Netflix can do about that.
And Marvel
I’ve never subscribed to Netflix for more than a month at a time. Usually in December to include my 10 day work break between Christmas & New Years Day. A reminder in my calendar takes care of the cancelling. Last time, I got a free month, maybe because it had been more than a year since I used the service.
I totally get it but for one thing. I’ve recently rediscovered my love of stand up comedy and Netflix seems like they are singlehandedly bringing back the stand up special. When I was a kid, HBO was the go to for these specials but I don’t really see them anymore.
