In what world does an LT4 get better gas mileage?
I don’t disagree with this. But I’d also wonder who’s buying this as a crate motor over an LS
why not make them available as a crate motor?
Revived XLR on the C8 platform please.
A C8 Z06 would be a good place to start, methinks.
According to Wikipedia, the Blackwing V8 (LTA) was only available in the CT6 starting in 2019, and Cadillac sold 30,588 CT6s total in 2019 in the US and China (global production numbers not disclosed).
Nah, that’s a really reductive take. Pushrod engines are way, WAY physically smaller than SOHC/DOHC engines, and therefore can be placed further back and low in the car. They don’t have a problem making obscene amount of power using modern metallurgy.
I’m disappointed. I liked that they finally were building their own engine again and the hot v config seems cool to me.
As I’ve said before, this is the whole issue I have with GM. They lag and lag behind the industry, and then when they finally do what everyone else has been doing, they want all kinds of pomp and circumstance for it. Then, after they get it right, the entire project loses steam and gets cancelled.
As cool as the LT4 is, you gotta remember that the Blackwing has a distinct advantage in countries where you’re taxed based on displacement. Furthermore, the Blackwing probably gets much better fuel mileage than an LT4 due to the smaller displacement and the fact that it doesn’t suffer from parasitic draw/loss…
I would expect the price to have fallen below this guys asking price. I mean, essentially 2 additional years sitting in a garage while Dodge continued to churn out thousands exactly like it with stacks of cash & rebates on the hood. The only 5 years old Dodge still worth 75% of its new sale price should have a Cummins…
It most definitely is the issue, at least for the lower trims. Sure, the upper trims arent much off of other trucks, but the lower trims are such a joke compared to its competition. Its base price of 33k for a manual and no power windows is thousands more than a Ranger or Colorado, with far better specs, even at the…
They call it the GT. It costs a half million dollars. They won’t sell it to you.
So the GM halo truck fan-boys who want to buy a severely limited rolling virtue signal, that looks like a Science-fiction army truck,
And your truck is ready for another few hundred miles after stopping at a convenience store for 10-15 minutes to fill up it’s tank, empty your own, and resume your travels.
They are building what people want, not need. Thats why crossovers, full sized trucks, and SUVs sell so well.
I continue to be bewildered how 0-60 times are a compelling measure of merit for a truck.
No. Let people be where they like. Taking roll-in/roll-out shots can be nice for a variety of reasons, even without stunters.
