This is a prime example of what I would call Evangelical Syndrome. Some of these "believers," like Cameron, somehow think that, since they have supposedly given themselves to Christ, they now have the power, and delusionally, the obligation, to judge as they see fit, and to hate as they see fit. To me, this series, and the U.S. variation, "Elementary" are kind of like fan-fiction "re-imaginings" of the Holmes/Watson stories. They feel like the writers are just messing around with the characters and situations for fun and to see what happens.
