I just bought an older Mazda 2 last week, been secretly wanting one for years. It’s such a fun time tossing that microscopic car around, and it’s a shame they’re not sold in the US anymore.

I’m sorry, what? Get out of here, these are annually documented as the worst fires in state history. By scientific, quantitative metrics. Just north of where I grew up, 80 people have died. But no, it’s cognitive bias?
I applied for this two weeks ago, and was accepted! They claim $751 in credits, and I’m interested in exploring the options. I’ll give it a try and see how it works!
The best part about this photo: “Abnormal Vehicle” placarded along the front. I’d love to get my hands on one of those signs, because “Long Load” or “Road Train” isn’t intriguing enough.
I really just like the look of the first-gen Mazda6. I think it’s understated, quiet, but plenty powerful enough.
I want to promptly start researching how (and how much) to import a Suzuki WhizzKid into the country. That would be an amazing thing to turn up to work in one day. It looks fantastic!
I just signed up. I’ll let you all know if I get selected, and of any details. Why not give it a shot?
Mock me if you must, but this little Honda Fit, with its teeny engine, 5-speed manual gearbox, and tiny wheelbase, will always be held in high regard from me. It was a hoot to drive (slowly), with a tire upgrade could really hold on in the corners, and just had a sense of character my Subaru Outback doesn’t have.
Leadership at Ford right now.
I couldn’t ever pull the trigger without knowing basics (mileage, condition, etc), but I give it a narrow NP because it’s fantastic looking. Personally, I dig the boxy look of these and appreciate the sundown of the old-school van construction (RWD-biased AWD, anyone?). I do love the bigger wheels, off-road tires, and…
I’m with... pretty much everyone else really. How does this shake down against an Outback? I drive a 2016 Outback and have taken it everywhere I’d like to. I know the Alltrack won’t keep up on decent off-roading, but does it bring any benefit besides interior plushness (of which I think Subaru’s is great anyway)?…
I gave up on having abs ages ago.
You mean that 4-cyl Subaru against a 6-cyl Jeep Cherokee? Thank you for ground-shaking criticism, pal.
I just bought a 2016 Outback 2.5i Premium one year ago! I paid just about the average from the research you did. I could have fought and got a new (2017) one for a bit more, but I did research enough to know there were no real updates between the years. I’ve since put 30,000 miles on the car, so it’s fully broken in.
The bear just wanted to see what this VTEC was all about.
I felt it was appropriate to try drifting my friend’s (no, not mine) Jeep Wrangler around this gravelly dirt road in the Northern Californian mountains. Short wheelbase, not a driving god, and I failed to mention the 800' cliff on the inside edge.
I love basic, simple cars with a good row-your-own. And while I, too, was too young to take in the beauties of the 90s I was elated with my (not as exciting) old 2012 Honda Fit. Lightweight, five-speed, a microscopic 1.5L that loved to rev. It was a solid nod to the old, still fairly slow, basic cars Honda is (well,…
Great write up of a fantastic experience! I saw you out there in your pink ascot and delightfully full fake moustache, a very fitting costume! I had to explain to more forgetful fans, about your Interceptors homage, but man you did it justice! How great that Clarkson replied to your personal tweet, too!
My Honda is non-partisan. I’d like her to stay that way.
This is exactly how I feel about the announcement. All of this!
