Yea today’s NHL is so much about not making a tiny mistake it takes a lot of the fun out. Reminds me of watching the WJC one year and I think it was Ferraro who said that that level may be the most exciting to watch because the players haven’t played under NHL coaches and had the creativity coached out of them yet.

It sucks they don’t happen anymore. It’s so hard to pull an open ice hit off without hitting a guy from his blind side nowadays. There was also a period where any open ice hit was immediately followed by a fight regardless of it being clean.
