Your approach makes sense. But I only put up the DND hangtag if doing so is paid back in points. Otherwise, I prefer the room made up each day and my motivation is as follows:

The current minimum wage is about $8 an hour. If the minimum wage had grown at the same rate as inflation, it would be over $20 an hour. But the same people who complain about taxes and paying for the poors, refuse to pay people for the work they do. Whenever I hear these types claiming to be Christians, I really get

Two issues with this. (Really one, because they’re inherently connected.)

Seeing that it’s a minimum wage job that doesn’t keep pace with the cost of living things have been like this for a while.

That’s probably the best thing you could do for housekeeping as they no doubt only get so much time to clean each room. Lighten their workload and they’ll probably love that more than a tip.
