Its the job of the business to make sure their business plan works.

I do occasionally Doordash, though only for pickup, since I’m able-bodied enough to go pick it up myself.

get rid of the $2.13 minimum wage for tipped employees (that restaurant associations lobbied for) first.

Keep telling yourself that. As long as servers are getting tips, why is there any incentive for anything to change?

I can hear all of the creaks and rattles already.

given how common wage theft is in the service industries, all you’re doing is saying we should start screwing the wrong people.

If you don’t tip, the employer has to make up the difference themselves.

or if it might inconvenience us in any way.

as usual, AdamVIP comes up with a “solution” that doesn’t work because he massively over-simplifies the problem.

Did you know that Sour Patch Kids have been around for 35 years now?

yep, this. An amusing thing I read about the stereotypical “Karen” (or “Kyle”) was:

I’m not a fan of automatic gratuity, but at least for me it’s been very rare- almost never- where I’ve felt like service problems were the fault of the server. It’s almost always been due to understaffing or back-of-house issues, and I’m not going to punish the wait staff for that.

Colecovision was the most amazeballs console back then, with the best home version of Donkey Kong and Zaxxon.  too bad they failed.

If ya want a Pepsi, pal, you’re gonna pay for it!

not my video, you watery tart ;)

I’m guessing it’s to really really get excess moisture out of it. usually the done thing is to press it between towels with a bit of weight, but just doing that leaves enough moisture to keep the texture pretty soft.

Now playing

no, he said they replaced the Trash 80 with a PET. it just took them a while to load the site from cassette.

ugh, we had PETs for the first few years of grade school. I remember those shitty chiclet keyboards.  most of them had the newer “real” keyboards.  but we were all happy to see them replaced by C64s.

just a plain hybrid would use a fairly small battery, so if they cut it back down to a flat 4 and were able to reduce the tank size they could probably fit it.  so long as the power electronics and MGU transmission weren’t too big.

This is basically at the upper end of blue book value for that model, so NP.
