This article sounded great, so I grabbed an RPI3 and installed 4.0.0 beta 3. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the same success that you have had with the PS3 Controller. It seems to still be synced with my PS3 itself and that might be the problem. I cannot seem to unsync it however. Any advice on getting the PS3

My mother-in-law. Even after asking her to stop.

Agreed. I have the same kit and actually used it for the first time last week. For some reason our venting has some crazy twists and turns, but this kit handled them well.

Thanks everybody for the input! Quite a lot to think about. Though, you've officially scared me away from immediately buying the AspireRevo. ;-) I'm still tempted to buy it for the small form-factor and the price. Although, it looks like Acer has recently removed it from their (US) webpage? At least, I can't

Curious about the Zotac Zbox... which I'm unfamiliar with. How is that working out for you as opposed to your "real" HTPC? Is this something I can dump any OS and software (XBMC, 7MC, etc.) onto? Thanks!

I'm going to build an HTPC mainly to play my videos (not for Netflix, Hulu, etc.). I think I've decided on using XBMC. Now, I'm getting down to the point where I need to decide on hardware. I am leaning toward the AspireRevo but I'm not positive it will meet my needs. I've heard conflicting reports on 1080p

Oh yeah, my pet peeve is putting topics/themes on the Help Yourself threads.

I rip movies that I have on DVD using HandBrake in m4v format. I was looking for a way to censor out the language in some of the movies so I can show them to my 3yr old. No idea what video editing software I would use for this. Any ideas? Mac OSX.

I'm looking for ideas for keeping those small straws from kids' cups in the dishwasher. I was thinking along the lines of a skinny plastic cup and cutting 'X's to hold top and bottom of the straw. Not really sure. Anyway... that's my next project I think.

Excellent! Thanks all. I don't have an HTPC yet. I wanted to weigh my software options before committing to anything. This definitely helps me!

Is anyone using any sort of DVR add-on for XBMC / Boxee? Can either one perform that sort of function through input from a TV card or similar? From what I understand, they don't have that functionality out of the box. And I'm not that familiar with either. Not sure if this is even a route I should consider.

My Garmin GPS suction cup mount for my car keeps falling off. It's old. Do I just need to replace it? Or, is there something I can do to give it a second life (besides just cleaning windshield)?

Very cool. (Why didn't I think of this idea?)

Hiding your SSID will not provide any additional security. It is trivial to find "hidden" SSID networks. It would only make it, potentially, more difficult to connect devices to the network.

Jing is very nice for screenshots as well. May be worth checking out if you haven't tried it.

Surely there's a way to dispose of sensitive papers by using binder clips.
