Man, from your lips to god’s ears.  Please.

The only thing that surprised me about this article was when she split the class into Latinos and white/black students.  So, she’s not racist against black people, but is against Latinos?  That’s a new one.

That is exactly what they will do. Any time things are considered on a case-by-case basis implicit (and explicit) bias invariably comes into play. Ex: cops.

Ah, good ole West Virginia: the Alabama of the North.

I’m sure when white Mississippi examines the law they put in place to favor white Mississippi they well be abashed and change said law forthwith.

The kid thing was an analogy. I certainly didn’t mean it to be literal or entirely accurate.

Of course her DNA test was a gaffe. And she’s apologized. And keeps apologizing. But this is the very soul of gotcha reporting.

I didn’t let cops off the hook.  But when you see a shitty 5 year old running around smashing things while his parents look on you might put some of the blame on the kid, but the lion’s share goes to the parents.

The only trouble with this is that while Dems would use it to indict a president who’s been criming his whole life the GOP will use it to indict any Dem prez who wears a tan suit.  Just ask Mitch, he’ll tell you.  Gleefully.

Warren has a plan for that.

The problem is less the cops but the system around them that can never hold them accountable. Laws are so lax around police behavior for fear of constraining them in their jobs that it allows any behavior with the unprovable justification of “credible fear,”  That claim then gets interpreted by a justice system that

In my home town a developer is looking to replace our shopping center parking lot with eleventy billion apartments which will crush our schools and roads and such.  At the first hearing where residents were allowed to express their views on this we met the developer’s representative whose name was, I shit you not,

Goddammit I’m still a 10 year old boy.  This still gives me chills of excitement.

I will forever remind everyone that the GOP named Steve King to be the Chairman of the Judicial Subcommittee on Civil Rights.  So while King says it all loud (and proud!) the GOP is right there with him.

Someone wake Nancy Pelosi from her nap and get her on this immediately.

I think you should have included the fact that his daughter was SO estranged from him that she only accidentally learned of his death when she happened to Google search his name.  How awful do you have to be that your kids only learn you’re dead when they’re Googling you?

Can I point out one more time that the GOP appointed him as Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Civil Rights? Steve King may say the quiet part (very) loudly, but the GOP is right there with him.

I only caught any grief from one white (racist) guy at work who claimed “not to get it” while totally getting it. I pointed out that one day I hoped a professional team would be named after Caucasians, as we’re the most violent, bloodthirsty group of people on the planet. He didn’t reply.

But I bet everything will be repaired now that Jack Daniels’ heirs are worth $20 billion, making the clan one of the richest families in America.

Robert Mueller is the bizarro Batman: not the hero we need, the hero we deserve.
