I too thought he quit early on it too, but after a second look ...... if you look at the angle the ball was coming down at, he had no chance

And the MLS has to stop bringing in old players that have been put out to pasture like Lampard and Gerrard. England has such a high level of regard for their own players. Those two were anchoring the midfield for the last 2 terrible World Cup performances by England. Rooney is next.
If Gulati does not replace Klinsman, maybe it’s time for him to go? Anyone know what that would take? Who does he report to and when is his current contract up?
Last night Costa Rica had 4 defenders and 5 midfielders and severely limited the ability to play the ball through the midfield. Jones and Bradley were moving quite a bit but they had a hard time finding space to receive the ball. That movement took them out of position defensively. Our defenders then played poor…
I tend to agree. Even though Jones leaves everything he has on the pitch, he is not in top form right now. He had too many poor touches and pass attempts over the last 2 games that left the US vulnerable to counter attacks.
I agree, but I say can Klinsman. His constant tinkering with the lineup, poor choices for replacements and his petty vindictive personality means he has probably lost the locker room. Listen, qualification in the top three is now seriously in jeopardy and talent alone will no longer get them there. MLS is doing…
I was there as well and you hit the nail on the head with “us soccer fans are a bunch of liberal hipster weenies”
I was there as well, and agree with most of what you said. Yes Cameron was a huge loss, but sorry, I totally disagree about the formation, It was the SOLE problem for the first 20 minutes. The US was in a 3-5-2 with Gonzalez, Brooks and Besler accross the back and Chandler and Johnson in the 5 man midfield. Mexico…
I fail to see why this article was posted by Deadspin. While I truly empathize with a tough life situation the author is going through, I fail to see how this adds any value to the discussion or the narrative of a vital loss for the US in its attempts to qualify for Russia.
Nope... starting at 0:16 that is the exact look I had today as I entered the voting booth today when I looked at the ballot for POTUS. We are all screwed regardless of who wins tonight.
Did anyone else notice how the Valencia keeper was being a complete DICK prior to the PK being taken? I sure the celebration was amped up by his behavior.
Let’s ask Mix what he thinks. Mix.........
I will coach my way and so you will coach yours. 8 year olds aren’t stupid and I have never coddled my players, I just disagree that an 8 year old should be taught slide tackling. I like the way you describe how you introduce the skill and that it is only a single session. but very few if any can master the timing and…
No,No, No!!! U11 maybe. U-8 thru U-10 Ball work, more ball work and some proper block tackling and defensive footwork.
