Aren't Hyundai's notorious for having inefficient engines?  I think this is a thing.

Relevant:

The Ridgeline has separate panels for the body and bed. Its still a single unibody structure underneath.

40mpg for $20k in THIS package is just incredible. Definitely some goldilocks pricing, I can’t remember the last time an MSRP was just so perfectly reasonable. I fully expected the Lariat to be at least $28-30k, and I’m sure the turbo with AWD and some options is easily there, but for a top trim truck that gets 40mpg,

Well, my recent desire to spend $20k on a Harley Pan America has morphed into a desire to spend $20k on a Maverick...

Prius MPGs with more utility for less money? If you have a family of four and a budget of less than $25K, I don’t see how you buy anything else.

They would have sold about 1000. The vast majority of consumer truck buyers buy a 4 door.

The Maverick build and price is already up. $35k is essentially a fully loaded Lariat. An XLT with the turbo, XLT luxury package, and AWD is around $30k. I would expect that to be around the typical price.

The pricing on this is good. Weird there’s no hybrid AWD version. I am still considering the Santa Cruz over this. The Hyundai should be faster which works for me (275hp/310tq with a DCT). The interior space is slightly larger and definitely more upscale it seems. I’m not bothered by the slightly smaller bed.

Buy one. Then buy me a Sawzall.

There’s another possibility... limited engineering resources. They already have the Cybertruck, Semi and next Roadster that are supposed to come out soon.

The Plaid+ battery would have been ~35kWh larger than a 100kWh Plaid (tough to find actual numbers quickly.) Even at 200$/kWh (quick Googling says current prices are <$150/kWh,) it only adds $7k of cost. There may be some more differences, but very likely of that $30K price increase, >$15K would be in profit. No way

I always wonder where Tesla would be or how they would be perceived if they under-promised and over-delivered instead of the inverse.

There really is no logical reason to own one of these. The popular consensus among high end collectors and enthusiasts who have experienced an SLR is that they aren’t very good at anything except covering long distances at very high speed, for which they are fantastic. But so is a new S63 AMG which has interior space,

Some cars grew on me over the years. The SLRs still look like hideous Ace & Gary cars to me. I don’t care if these cost the same to buy and run as a BRZ, I still wouldn’t want one. SLS is a different story.

Now, a group of House Democrats have introduced a $547 plan to revamp surface transportation infrastructure...

Because instead of repealing arcane, ancient, and needless regulations, they’re worried about gender pronouns and keeping America divided.

Breech birth.

He had his face at 10 inches from a tire spinning at many times its safe speed and with nails in it.
