That’s not a tractor.  That is a wheel loader or front-end loader.

I had an ‘87 Integra (5-door, manual transmission) that I bought new and kept for 13 years.  That was a lovely car.  That little 1.6l motor was a gem.  No, it wasn’t fast by modern standards, but it was a lovely little car.  I’m probably not in the market for a new one, but I do remember it fondly.

That reality has not stopped range from dominating the conversation because having the ability to go farther or drive however you want for longer in a BEV is currently THE mark of luxury.

This would be completely pointless. The amount of range you would get is miniscule.

First, range isn’t everything. Almost all EQS buyers will have a garage and will charge nightly. I suspect the majority of them will not make long road trips — they will fly. So the impact of a range difference between 350 miles and 400 miles is likely to be immaterial to those buyers — 350 miles is more than

How about owning a Tesla outside of warranty?

Big Mercedes S-class sedans are mostly leased and turned over quickly.

I’m not a big fan of the shape. I see why they show it in two tone paint, but I think the discontinuity in the lower color between front-clip and the front fender (at the front wheel well) looks terrible:

What makes you say it is less practical than a Tesla?

You want Blue Cruise on your Ford?  Pony up for the subscription.

Quadrasteer was an awesome option. Too bad GM discontinued it.  That was an awesome turning circle -- smaller even than my 2013 Land Cruiser, which has a pretty small turning circle for a large SUV.

California isn’t fine. It has major problems including a failing public education system, homelessness, business closing due to out of control street crime, rolling blackouts, uncontrolled wildfires, just to name a few.

Putting HVAC, tuning, and volume control in the infotainment system is stupid.  Physical buttons are easier and safer to use while moving.

I’ve asked before, but it hasn’t happened yet. I was out of the greys for more than 5 years. Shortly after moderately criticizing a particularly progressive article here, I was demoted to the greys, with no notification. I can only interpret that as Jalopnik wanting me gone for being politically incorrect, but perhaps

Had. I sold Integra in 2000 as the rust monster was starting.  And, yes, the flip up headlights were cool.  I loved that car.

I disagree. Compared to a comparable gasoline engine, the diesel is at least 100 lbs heavier. So less performance.

I disagree. That is the radius, not the diameter. Diameters are 40' for the Maverick and 37.4' for the CR-V. RAV4 is 36.1 to 37.4. That’s significant.

More displacement and horsepower than my ‘87 Integra.

That is a relatively recent trend as the new name for the HR department.  It doesn’t signify anything more than the company trying to be trendy.

If you combine all of the things the Maverick is capable of doing and add in the remarkable fuel-efficiency of the base hybrid model and the starting price of $19,995, then the real question becomes why the hell would anyone want to buy a crossover like the Toyota RAV4 or the Honda CR-V, two of the best-selling
