Does Mickey count as a companion?

Did The Three Doctors make any attempt to explain it?

Jacobi's quintessential role was a character who seemed flustered and dotty and basically innocuous enough, until the big reveal, more or less.

State of Play!

Bessie's license plate said "WHO". He was paged as "Doctor Who" in The War Machines. 2nd Doctor signed his name as Who. Credited as "Doctor Who" for the first 17 seasons.

I am *strongly* in favor of his name being Doctor Who.

This actually goes back to Moffat's 2nd and 3rd Doctor Who stories, with Reinette constantly taking "the long way" to meet the Doctor again throughout her life in "The Girl in the Fireplace" and Billy Shipton waiting the rest of his life to see Sally Sparrow again in "Blink".

I think Fuller and Browning's version of Laura has been one of the highlights of the show.

Book Laura is a boring cipher, but what does that have to do with the show?

A group dance number featuring all the Jesuses dancing to "Personal Jesus"?

Mary Jane Watson has not been a staple of Spider-Man since his first appearance. It took her about four years to show up.

I mean, the producers made a big deal of "first gay companion!" Then they don't do much of anything with it. I mean, it's fine, I'm not offended by it or anything, just feels like a missed opportunity. And it *definitely* feels like Bill has had less development in that respect than virtually any other new series

Well, she took Penny on one date. The first one was a simulation. But that was totally divorced from the actual story - mostly a running gag about dates interrupted by the Pope and the UN Secretary-General.

Justin Richards is massively mediocre, from his stories that I've listened to. I've only listened to early Big Finish, so haven't encountered Dorney or Fitton.

(She was quite a fun Beatrice in Whedon's Much Ado, though)

I wish someone would cast Acker as the lead in something good, though. I feel like she always ends up as like a scene-stealing guest star, or a fan favorite recurring character.

Handles was a Cyberman head!

The Russian and Chinese commanders in Pyramid spoke with Russian and Chinese accents (and the UN Secretary-General also had an accent), so were presumably speaking in English rather than being translated.

Seven also has the problem that his Big Finish stories don't very clearly match up with the Virgin novels, no?

I don't think the First Doctor was a Vestal Virgin, though.
