Should we be surprised? The man had a crazy upbringing and is a chronic over-sharer. I honestly expected worse. (And yes, RWS is more disturbing than good. Dry, however, is one of my fav memoirs.) #augustenburroughs

@Scoithniamh: I agree. But I do think that one benefit of the write-for-a-guy approach is that we see less of the T&A style action that we see so much of these days. Chicks in action movies now have to have skin tight outfits and tons of cleavage, and writing the part for a guy means that it's a lot less likely to

@Porcelina: I agree, but I do think that Ripley and Sarah Connor were kickass because Sigourney Weaver and Linda Hamilton are kickass. I don't think it had so much to do with the writing, and in the hands of lesser actresses it could've been dreadful. It's not something I normally give someone like Cameron credit

@MissyMcCLung: The article is actually very unclear. She had an emergency c-section before. Now she's trying to have a vaginal birth (VBAC), but she hasn't actually had the kid. #reproductiverights

I think Joy Szabo's story and the story of rising c-sections are two very different things.

@JoStockton: I have some serious acidity issues, too. If you haven't been on meds long, they take a while to kick in. And you may want to try a different one if the one you're on isn't working great.

@Erda: If it's a first offense, I would expect a lawyer can easily get your friend some kind of pretrial diversion program where they don't end up with any jail time and nothing on their record. Or there are lots of states with first offender program where it gets expunged within a few years. A conviction like this

@deeemer: I would second Borges. I'd also suggest Edogawa Rampo, a Japanese writer with a lot of short mystery-style stories from the early 20th century. He was inspired by Edgar Allan Poe and his stuff is pretty fun.

@alouette: I didn't know either. I didn't realize it until he showed up in the movie and I sat there happily squee-ing in my seat. Who needs Brad Pitt with a bad mustache? #openthread

@Circumstansial Soul: Cut the cord. I would make sure you're not in contact in any way. If it means you unfriend some mutual friends on facebook, then do it. If you don't unfriend, at least take them out of your newsfeed or something. The best thing you can do is just remove all of that from your life so you can

@coconanas: I had similar effects. It was great to have a better libido, but the acne was killer.

@lollapulizer: Honestly? I'm not sure a layman's definition is possible. Wikipedia's version isn't half bad:

@LittleMissBossyBoots: Oh, I heart Daniel Bruhl. I was very pumped when I realized he was in Inglourious Basterds. And I liked him a lot in Was nützt die Liebe in Gedanken (Love in Thoughts) which played the festival circuit a few years back. #openthread

@IBleedGlitter: The High Priestess of Tinsel: I did the online dating thing a few times and did actually meet my husband there. I was very very discriminating. The thing I looked at first was usually a good tell. If their favorite books were The Da Vinci Code, the Bible, or a combination thereof, they were toast. #

Thanks for the suggestions, all.

Hey, Jezzies.

@¡Vampiro atropellado!: This is pretty standard practice. Pregnancy has an insane number of symptoms and I've had pregnancy tests done with every urine sample I can recall submitting for the last 10 years. Only once did I actually ask for it. #openthread

@kellieherson: This reminds me of a boyfriend I had a few years ago who was only 20 at the time. I made a Seinfeld joke (the torpedo takes 2 keys!!) and he totally didn't get it. Neither did his friends. Those are the breaks when you date a younger guy. #openthread

Uh, wow. I was just on maternity leave, and it is definitely no vacation. The majority of us need serious serious time to get ourselves back together. The first two weeks might as well have been sick leave because I felt so off. Took me a good 6 weeks to feel even semi-normal.

@applebrown-betty: No, you don't automatically get "good time," but everywhere I've been it's a part of the system, whether you're just in the local jail or you're doing serious prison time. Plus, you're often eligible for parole before your sentence is up.
