The show is intended to appeal to the widest demographic possible, methinks. And I've observed that a very large percentage of said demographic consists of children and adolescents.

Oh yes, that was another episode I didn't relate to. Of course second-hand smoke is hazadous. I am a former tobacco smoker, and I have gotten second-hand nicotine buzzes from smokers in my vicinity in the years since I quit. I hate the way nicotine feels as a psychoactive substance, and the smell of burning tobacco

Excellent point, and precisely one of my concerns: children and adolescents who watch SP are likely to take much of what is depicted literally, and they make up a huge percentage of the shows demographic.

I agree that her centrism didn't help. Her lack of charisma was also a major factor. Unfortunately, most people are more emotional than logical, and respond more to razzle-dazzle than rational argument.

I actually think that Bernie may have had a better chance at winning the election than Hillary. He would have appealed much more to the poor nationwide and especially the poor and blue-collar populations of the Rust-Belt states where so many seem to not be beholden one way or another to a political party, but rather

Some seem to be. It's quite obvious that Matt and Trey think that global warming is a farce. That really disappointed me, like the pro-male genital mutilation episode. I was shocked as I had thought they were smarter than that. Man-induced global warming may not be the only factor in climate change…in fact I think

I don't think it's racist. I don't even know for sure that Parker and Stone are actually transphobic - though for the latter I think there is much more ample evidence.

I think you're right. I am also intensely opposed to male genital mutilation, and they had a very overtly pro-circ episode in one of the early seasons which infuriated me, even though I continued to watch the show as I find it often hilarious. As I get older, though, I see how bigoted a lot of what they display is.

My aforementioned nephew initially had refused to vote, saying it "didn't matter" - my mother, who is rather apolitical generally, actually was able to drag him and his girlfriend (who also had initially intended to refrain from voting) to the voting booth with her! My whole family voted for Clinton. But anyway,

I agree. It does affect the voting population as, as you noted, an entire generation (Millenials) has grown up watching it and often taking its perspectives as gospel. Of course this can and does effect how people vote. All people are impressionable to some extent - children are to an extreme.

You have a picture of Dr. Frankenfurter as your avatar but you think transgender people are "delusional freaks?" I actually find that rather intriguing…
