I was talking about the 4Runner!

As soon as the weather starts to break in NYC mobs of illegal dirt bike riding assholes start rampaging through the streets. The ride in such great numbers that the NYPD just does nothing. A couple of summers ago these fuckers were tearing ass down my street the wrong way and riding on the sidewalks. I had to yank

On my way to the comment section!

Can’t wait until all the money generated by this just sort of disappears into Albany coffers and the subway remains fucked.

Prediction: The congestion charge will only just barely pay for the administration and collection of the congestion charge.

This is Jalopnik at its best. Thank you.

That is because those lots of people won’t take 10 minutes to understand how taxes, withholdings and refunds literally anything actually works.

That always drives me nuts. I plan my withholding (keeping it close to, but safely under the penalty threshold) so that I’m always writing the government a check. I’m not anti-tax and believe in paying my dues, but I can’t stand giving the government an interest-free loan.

Yeah, I’ve been explaining to several people that despite getting a smaller refund, they actually paid hundreds and even thousands less in taxes during the year.  I’m sure the law screwed some people, but not very many.  I do think politically, this whole thing was stupid because the fact that refunds are lower gives

Fuck you

Everyone at Gizmodo Media is now a union pundit. You just have to get used to it. Maybe someday they’ll go on strike and we’ll have to put up with replacement writers from Oppo for a while. Meanwhile, they’ll keep complaining that their office is too cold, do nothing about it, and continue to tell us how awesome

Unpopular opinion incoming:

The new Supra: All the excitement of a Toyota, now with the reliability of a BMW!

Um... the shadow is of a 1st Gen Bronco.

I know it’s not the correct response, but I wish Jalopnik itself would dial back the activism. This site is best when it’s a nice respite from reality, where we share in the love of cars and motorsports. Too often now it’s being dragged into the same hyper-political climate of mocking and finger wagging.
