Yeah, but he drives a Fit Sport so... there’s that.
I feel like this site just repeatedly beats me over the head with reasons to not live in California.
Yep. That’s why HOA’s and Restrictive Covenants are eliminated from my current home search.
This is why I actually come to Jalopnik - to read stories about topics like this.
I didn’t argue about whether it is within or against regulations. What I’m arguing is that it’s completely stupid for human beings to interfere with each other on such trivial and pointless levels.
I guess if you were dumb enough to buy a residential or ag zoned property and wanted to take that fight to Cabarrus county, be my guest. I would suggest buying a property zoned industrial - back home that would be something like an ‘I-2' zone. There are plenty of spots right off I-85 and I’m sure the local government…
As someone involved in a professional racing series, this has to be silliest take on high wear/fall-off tires I’ve ever read. The whole idea that it isn’t the sole responsiblity of the teams to manage the tire wear/usage, shows a fundamental lack of understanding of what can make racing excellent. Even if you can’t…
I’m not accusing them of sabotage. I’m accusing them of doing a bad job if this is, indeed, what they turn out. There is a notable difference.
You are such a better sport about this than I would ever be.
This will be a classic play by the OE.
I too hate rich people on a fundamental level.
It’s not just what the corporate stooges say. It’s the lambasting that you get from the majority of folks ON JALOPNIK. I’m always taken aback by how hard the car community is on people who lament the loss of the MT.
I think some of this actually went into the mid-80's at least. My first car was a 1980 Malibu Classic. It had dark green metallic paint with various shades of green cloth interior (Jade)...
I’m saying, from my experience that having the ability to actually drive a 2.0T 6MT Accord would have given that car a really good shot at sitting in my driveway rather than the Golf SW that’s there now.
I’m confused. Who said anyting about a conspiracy? I recall listng three distinct and real factors in the MT demise. Also, your second line basically re-itereated the third contributing factor I mentioned at the end, so.... thanks?
See my 3rd point. I was new car shopping in 2018-2019. I couldn’t find a 6MT Accord to drive within 500 miles. I’m not buying a car without experiencing first (I’m sure the new 2020 version of Jalopnik will throw flak at me for that too). I ended up buy a 6MT Golf SportWagen becuase I found one close, got to experience…
Welcome to 2020 Jalopnik, where you’ll find more car theft apologists than detractors. What in the actual fuck?
It’s a textbook OE play. Offer the MT, but not in all trims or with all engines (and normally only with the shittier of the choices). No one buys it. Then shrug shoulders and say - well that take rate is terrible, that was dumb, we won’t do that again.
