I mean, at least for now, the post makes a valid point.

Came to Jalopnik today to read about car stuff. Left dissapointed that Jalopnik finds a way to bitch about someone donating money/resources, when the donating entity doesn’t have to do it at all.

Also, every single person with a 401k is effectively pushing for this behavoir wether they realize it or not. All buisiness cares about is share price and the only things that seem to drive share prices is the perception of growth and/or price manipulation (i.e. reducing supply of shares by buying back). So

I simply cannot get past how ugly the pile shown in the lead picture really is. It looks like a previous gen Corolla and a blowfish had a love child.

I bought a 2019 Golf Sportwagen with 4Motion and 6MT. What did you do?

My hope is that it is an actual body-on-frame, honest pick-up truck. However, the reality of maximizing profit, is that it will likely be a FWD unibody-based car with a bed and possibly an opiton for part time AWD like an Escape (if not based on the exact same platform). If that’s the case, I’ll have to pass,

A 1964 Rambler Classic. It was a budget, throw-away car in 1964 when it was built...

Yes, I also wish all of the people who I don’t share a view with to die.

I feel like there is like a really nice solution residing somewhere between this tin can with an engine and the overweight nanny-tanks being sold today.

“More broadly is the issue of scale. The global consolidation of the automotive industry has made it increasingly challenging to support a brand and a business that operates in only two markets, which represent less than one percent of the global industry.“

You should probably re-word the first line of this article considering it was just re-posted today (2/17/20) and this didn’t happen yesterday.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Personally, I think they would have had something had the Gladiator been more distinguished from the Wrangler by actually doing a more ‘common’ looking pickup like the Comanche from the 80's. You know, real fenders and a non-recessed grill area.

Also, it will be mostly boring... like a CVT.

I do like it.

Neutral: I made my first new car purchase in 14.5 years this past August (2019 VW SportWagen). Previous daily driver was a family-used 2nd hand 93 Accord (which I still enjoy driving more than the brand new VW and it returns better fuel economy).

“Still, it’s a joy to see one still on the road, probably accounting for less emissions than if the owner had cycled through a new car every few years, electric or not.”

Thank you for saying this in what I read to be a very sarcastic manner.  I really mean it.

What a wonderful vehicle. Not that I’m biased...

I came here to read a story about a warthog banned from flying again and now I’m dissapointed.

“...it goes without saying that this car will not be available in the United States market.”
