Powerful writing Mack.  Thank you for your story.  These losses in life will shape you for the negative or the positive (probably both).  I know they have for me over my rapidly-approaching-40 years.  Carry on as your brother pushed you and embrace those times when his memory rings your head like a bell.

The tolerances and overall quality control are a huge issue. Back in the day, all of these things were built on-site but that resulted in a less efficient production stream. Compare the difference in efficiency of a site-built home vs. a modular unit that is built offsite and assembled. There is always much less

Bonus points for using ‘Asymptotically’ correctly in a Kinja post.

Here’s the problem with this, these are the individuals that find a way - always - to shelter from this type of tax.

Vlade Divac’s halftime cigarettes think that this is another sign of weekness in today’s players.

Yep - this exactly. At my company, if you have used your phone for encrypted company email it WILL be wiped remotely. I would imagine a similar command will come down on your laptop.

If it had more rust on it, I’m certain David Tracy would be interested.

+1 “It’s my natural shooting form”

I would really caution that individual in Michigan from walking away from a $200/month policy.  It may not cover much, but that’s not as bad as what a lot of people are facing.  Per that person, both of the adults work.  If I were him or her, I would try to find a way to scrimp and have that available.  Of course,

Here’s what I’ve got for you:

Not going to matter anyway as the Suns will probably have half the balls in that lotto machine by end of year.

Close, but not there yet:

I love how these trucks had callbacks to the 67/68 Chevy:

I know that many on these sites have antipathy towards Amazon, but you have to check out their replacement parts websites - everything from vehicles to kitchen appliances.  Depending on your vehicle, you’d be surprised what they have at good prices ready to ship to you.

This was my point with one of your posts many, many moons ago. These plastic fasteners from the 80's to today are horrible to work with. Your point was that cars from that era are the best to wrench. I agree that they are more fun than the 70's malaise era cars and better than the crap-boxes of the 90's but damnit all

No - I haven’t edited a post in many months (not because I haven’t effed something up, just that I usually don’t see the eff-up before you can’t edit it anymore).

Check my second paragraph - it does come off of your taxable income if you have enough total deductions that itemized is greater than the standard deduction.  If you don’t have that much, it’s immaterial whether or not you own your home - you’re getting the standard $24,400 next year (married/joint).

I think you’re dead on here. We are overdue for a recession and that $15/vehicle/change savings will become worth if for a number of people by changing it themselves. I don’t know if they’ll all buy oil from Amazon, but I think that there will be more DIY-inclined people doing this for themselves.

Like all of these small trucks, they were only good if they were loaded to the right capacity and if the frame integrity stayed put. I saw one of these get completely broken as a kid at a gravel pit when a guy had a ton of sand loaded into the bed of one. I guess that the operator put the load too far forward of the
