While a flat EQ is theoretically ideal, you also have to consider aural perception. Take a look at the Fletcher-Munson curves and more recent equal-loudness contours. The human ear hears different frequencies at different levels. And these levels change as you age also. Ideally, the audio engineer has taken all of

My hack for this is to drink at my desk. Constantly. A cup or two of coffee in the morning, tea all day long after that. That means a trip to the bathroom about every 45 minutes or so whether I like it or not. Liked the idea of taking the long way. Going to circle the entire floor en route from now on.

"If the Spotifys and Rdios hang on long enough, they—or someone with a better product and a window of opportunity—will figure it out"

Maybe it would work on induction with carbon paper.

On the plus side, however, fewer brown-skinned people are dying needlessly. You win some, you lose some.

Guess it's time to start making my own. That should offset the price hike even if peanuts themselves are going up.

Sure! Can you use the Dvorak keyboard layout?

There is a flaw in the analogy Mr. Doctorow chose, Cory. Schmidt is not saying don't *review* the service due to the fact that it's opt-in, he's saying don't *use* it. He said nothing about the discourse around G+, only its use. So much for monumental intellectual dishonesty.

Greenpois0n worked great for me. I liked the timer built into the UI that helped me put it into DFU mode. Nice touch.

@MisterStegs: My wife and I use it all the time. Every day. The list sharing is brilliant and seamless. You can set up the aisles in the order your grocery store has them in so you only have to make one trip through the store. You also can set up multiple stores. So we have one for the hardware store, etc. It

@tomsomething: Lactose free tastes sweeter to me. I think it's because they use an enzyme to digest the lactose and it breaks it down into other sugars.

I've been on Dreamhost for 4-5 years and really can't complain. They are pretty reliable and have a lot of features and are cheap. Their monthly newsletters are pretty silly, though.

Blades are cheap. Razors are expensive. I bought a "safety razor" years ago and spend so little on blades I don't even notice it.

I'm 40 and have had 4 or 5 acute depressive episodes that have required medication for many months or years. I've come to understand these acute depressive episodes as emotional constipation. They've made me sit down and pay attention to my body, mind, and emotions. Usually, I'm trying to get a deep, important

Killer app. Love this.

The WindowPad AHK script is very handy for resizing/moving windows in a multi-mon setup.

Augmented reality in a magazine? Been there, done that. They called it CueCat. Fail. #remainders

We use a Dazey Churn. Easy to turn, just do it while you're watching TV or whatever. Comes out delicious. We have a milk share with a local farm, so the cream is essentially free - we just skim it off the top of the jar of milk. The butter is really yummy if you let it culture for a few days. Like "yogurt butter".

I put 1/2 cup steel cut oats in a bowl with a cup of milk (whole, unpasteurized if you have it), put it in the microwave for 2 minutes on high and then 8 minutes on 20% power. Comes out perfectly. Add frozen berries which add flavor and bring the temperature down to just right. A few almonds, some cinnamon - heaven.
