So i guess you’ve never seen those capsule hotels in Japan and very expensive cities

Who’d have thought we’d have Hulkenberg vs Magnussen in 2022?

Is it really bricked if you can fix it?

MBP 15 2015 updated just fine and it had the Logic Board replaced once...

You have to think about it in the same way as a yacht. They aren’t really a very efficient way to travel. But they do give a notably unique experience.

As someone who likes it pitch black when I sleep I could see myself using that. I don’t get claustrophobic in MRIs either though.

It depends. A week in a hotel could easily cost as much as a fillup. The longer you stay at a destination the more an RV pays for its fuel costs.

“...the Genius Bar’s triage of your bricked device will result in not a DFU restore, but likely a second replacement of your device’s logic board.”

Yeah, that’s genius: Instead of losing money on providing the correct fix, Apple can MAKE money on new logic boards that have nothing to do with fixing the actual problem.

Oh FFS.

Glad I read this. I’m only seeing this applying to laptops, but I had the logic board replaced on my 2018 Mac Mini, so I’m going to proceed with caution until we have more details. Mine was a factory/manufacturing issue and was replaced by a genuine part by authorized service retailers under warranty, so I’m probably

Never let the self-appointed gatekeepers tell you what you can or cannot be passionate about!

My 2018 MBP updated just fine and I haven’t had it serviced in the past either.

Man... what a psychological blow.  Now how are my Mac-using associates going to give me hash over Microsoft Updates after this experience???

Just a note to say that I have enjoyed your writing since you were a commenter/occasional oppo writer, and I’m particularly a fan of all the oddball vehicles you find and write about.

I would not share this either...none of these look like the choice of an auto enthusiast or the a launchpad for for an automotive writing career...

It ruined me in high school. I still love it.

ha, I thought the same thing. But it’s not like Jalopnik is owned by some self interested media conglomerate that could care less about it’s actual readers and would sell it’s data for lunch money such that it was accessible on the web by unsavory internet hackers who could link them up to actual personal data using

That’s why I always use a random year and car for each different account.

I lie on all of those questions. Nothing says its needs to be your actual first car or elementary school.

I also had a Passat of that generation as my first car. Absolutely the WRONG car for a broke college student, but it was AWESOME, and I miss it.
