A few months late to reply, but nope. Been watching the series since ‘67. However, you made a good point. The show has always been preachy. Perhaps PTBs should stop preaching after 50 years.

To answer your last question— In the episode when the Roci right before it dashed to the ring, there was a very slight hint in the moments when Holden (in the airlock) called out to Miller asking him what needed to be done to escape the Behometh’s missile.
You do know that about 15% of the world population consists of white men, right? So you start with 15%, and that number goes down when non-humans are also part of the crew. Therefore, why would you think the crew should have more white males, given that Discovery (and other starships) are not “American”?
I agree, as well. It seemed the writing was inconsistent and rushed at times. It was almost like one writer had a bunch of new ideas, but there were no other writers on staff to help with the scripts.
I agree. For all the SJW criticism that was unwarranted throughout the series, I found the speech too preachy.
Your comment makes no sense. As I am a SJW, I would have been very happy is Saru — an alien — would have made the speech. Somehow, you think SJW is applicable only to black women. Which is kind of racist.
