This is pretty much exactly how Donald Trump rose to fame too. Oied and faked like he money until enough people believe it, he was legitimized enough that that real banks loaned tons of money.

It’s amazing to me how no one is demanding that ICE come in and ship her off. It must be nice to be a white woman. You can blatantly rip people off, without remorse, then profit from your crime.

I was not aware of her story until Jez posted something about her recently. I went down a rabbit hole! I read the article and then stalked her Instagram. Fucking fascinating how she got away with some crazy shit until it all came tumbling down.

Right? I enjoyed the New York story, though I thought the writer was a little too enamored with Sorokin/Delvey and could’ve used some of the perspective Prachi brought to this piece but, like, I don’t have much faith that the tv show won’t overly glamorize the grift.  

Narcissism is a hell of a drug. If you don’t care who you hurt or how you hurt them, you can accomplish a lot of things through sheer force of will. She’s cut from the same cloth as our current president.
