The REASON the ICE vehicles get such terrible gas mileage is simply because the way they are used.  Constant stop and go driving in the lowest gear for mail delivery to curbside boxes.  As well as drivers who really don't give two shits about gas mileage while driving them, why would they?  The routes are typically

We’ve tried everything, except paying people what the job is worth, and we’re all out of ideas!

I really hope the LLV’s get sent to auction rather than being crushed, it would be awesome to see what people do with them.

Chicken and egg staffing prob, rather common I think. Cant get new employees because the job is too stressful unless fully staffed. But cant get fully staffed without new employees. Almost have to bring in a bunch at once (to prove “fully staffed” to the other noobs), but then really hard to train so many in parallel.

They’re goofy looking, but honestly pretty endearing, and being purpose-built whilst also increasing safety and comfort is a huge win.

It looks like the Italian Job and Duel screenwriters were influenced by Cy Endfield’s Hell Drivers. Also features a very young Sean Connery, definitely worth a watch.

It doesn’t get much better than the Blues Brothers car chase through the mall.

So many in The Blues Brothers. Final one is legendary, but the one in the mall is also pretty good.

Honestly, any of the ones from Ronin
