I’m with you 100%—it’s too complicated of a car for its own good.

Not a chance. After reading 2 decades of horror stories about this and the W12 in the Phaeton along with watching my mother’s Cabriolet disassemble itself slowly into component pieces there is no possibility that would ever buy a VW of this vintage.
We had a 1.8T of this same year. Around 2012, the interior was a beginning to disintegrate and the oil cooler went bad and held my wife hostage on the side of the highway. With all the weird issues we had with our 1.8T, I cannot imagine what its like maintaining that obscure W8 with double the age on it.
Nope. Not even for free.
Let me spoil it for you: she won’t do SHIT, because Democrats don’t actually WANT change, they just want to dangle the possibility of change in front of everyone in order to get reelected. Remember when HMOs drove healthcare costs to the moon under Bush, and Clinton ran on socialized medicine? Then did nothing? How…
Almost 6 grand! No Dice
Driving in left lane (not passing) - ~$200 fine
If they actually enforced the laws like left lane for passing, no tailgating, headlights on, phone use, etc...
The “Chicken Tax”. Let me get all those sweet forbidden trucks from overseas.
I’d also apply to stroads. Left lanes are for over taking and turning left.
Lane discipline in general needs to improve. If you arent actively passing, or going for the rare left exit, you need to filter right as quickly and safely as possible. Too many people just get on freeways and get in the left lane and set cruise to 80.
See I disagree with banning right on red, instead I would ban unprotected lefts. With seemingly everyone driving giant trucks, it’s impossible to see if there is oncoming traffic to make a left.
No. Right on Red is perfect.
I agree, but only to make sure vehicles are safe. My 25 year old car has a check engine light for “unusual egr valve activity”? Tough shit I am not fixing it.
There needs to be an automobile driver bill of rights that stops vehicle manufacturers from monetizing the drivers’ information when no permission was given in the first place—especially with them spying on drivers and relaying it to insurance companies.
Laws against left lane camping need some real teeth. We hear about the occasional story of someone getting pulled over for going the speed limit in the left lane, but they’re rare enough the general public often has no idea they exist. There’s no reason, on a 3 lane highway, for anyone to have to be in the left lane…
In my little section of West Alabama, whenever we have power outages following a massive storm, we offer the utility workers some food and drink while they work to show our appreciation. I’m serious. We usually have our power restored faster than everyone else.
They’re saying that until the state law has language in it that specifically says they can’t enforce the pickup rule (even though it already does), they’re going to continue to enforce it. They’re being stubborn and petty.
Ford Escort Wagon and collector car is not something I thought would be in the same sentence.
I feel like I need to go visit all the popular national parks before they just close them off to everyone.
