The mobile and PC gaming sides seem to be doing just fine with 100 percent digital downloads. The primary reason consoles didn’t make that leap already is the logistical problem of selling hardware. GameStop, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart will be much less wiling to make shelf space for consoles with no games to sell

Hey, I loved Little Inferno. But it doesn’t have much replay value... and it’s been on your top 12 list since the beginning. For that matter, you have three launch titles on here — isn’t it time to make room for some of the other amazing Wii U games? Maybe Shovel Knight? Runbow? Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker? Hyrule

“Disc-based games will be around forever.” - GameStop CEO Paul Raines

All that, and he couldn’t even be bothered to give Panga a star???!? Tsk tsk.

Eagerly awaiting the Wii U release of this!

I got Nowi murdered almost immediately :(

I just started re-watching Dragon Ball Z (the “Kai” series which greatly edits down the original, cuts all the filler). I finally realize that it isn’t all that substantial, the plot has so many gaping holes and non sequiturs, and even the better-translated dialogue is garbage. The action sequences, few and far

I fear it will fall into the same trap as Bayonetta 2: excellent game on a middling console with a small install base that only sees success with established Nintendo franchises. I’m picking it up Day One but frankly I will be shocked if it moves more than 200,000 units in North America.

Fatal Frame has a LOT going against it. It is a niche survival horror game, digital download only, exclusive to the Wii U’s small install base, with virtually no marketing. It could be GOTY for all I know but it just can’t sell well under those conditions.

If you’d like to try for yourself, the arcade version is available on the Wii Shop, either on an original Wii or the Wii U via Wii Mode. It is excruciating. Even with unlimited continue credits, I can’t get but about a third of the way through the game.

So... they went with a business guy, not exactly a stranger to gaming, but with a background in banking / finance.

It had to be Christmas 1986, when I got my NES. I only vaguely remember playing it for the first time, probably because I have played it literally hundreds of times since then.

Many browers (including Chrome) now disable Flash by default. Gawker still uses Flash for their videos and ads, sadly.

Backer here. They just announced a delay for the PC version to September 30, and the Wii U version is still “TBA” but likely 2016. I backed specifically for the Wii U so...

Delayed to September 30 :(

GameStop is just playing out the string. This will assuredly be the last console generation with physical media; once Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft join PC in going all-digital, GameStop will go out of business.

I love the narrator’s German accent. It’s like Werner Herzog’s Smash: The Deadliest Hit
