I didn't even realize how much I'd spent until I audited my collection for Tina's post. A big reason for the high price tag is I purchase all my games either digitally or new at retail, at launch, so I don't save nearly as much as I could by buying used discs or waiting for sales / discounts. Sometimes I feel like

Yeah, the majority of my spending was eShop and Virtual Console. I've bought most of the VC games and a pretty big chunk of eShop downloads.

I'm the collector in question - most of those games are eShop and Virtual Console downloads. Only 19 are actual on-disc retail games. I'm a collector, and I tend to buy retail games right after release, rarely used (for Wii U, anyway). What can I say? It's been my hobby since I was six years old.

'Tis a joke. I think any actual anger comes from Americans who didn't grow up with Fire Emblem, since the first game released here wasn't until like 2003?

I think my original post was deleted somehow... but it's pretty bad

Paid $350 at launch for the Deluxe Set with Nintendo Land
Wii U Pro Controller - $50
Extra Wii Remote Plus - $40
Extra Wii Remote (used) - $20
20 retail disc games, new - roughly $1,200
18 eShop download games - roughly $250
86 Virtual Console games - roughly $450

Total agreement here. See the hype trains that were Watch_Dogs and Destiny pre-release vs. the more muted response afterward.

I don't think people dislike Dark Pit so much as the fact he's taking a roster slot that could be used by any number of unique characters. He's literally a costume swap of Pit with a different moveset. The same can be argued of Dr. Mario, of course.

"We conduct a character popularity poll both domestically and internationally. We also research games that are currently being developed. After that, we add Dark Pit and every PC from Fire Emblem."

Now playing

Loving it so far. SO much to do. SO MANY MENUS. (See also: Kid Icarus: Uprising; Super Smash Bros. Brawl)

I did the same thing!!! I like the look better with them sorted separately now.

Fahey, this is MANDATORY for next weekend

I believe that is Initial-D

I struggle with the same (working on some sort of TAY write up for that, eventually). Generally, I sort by console / platform, then alphabetically by *earliest game in the series*, then alphabetically after that. And by earliest game in a series, I mean chronologically in the series' timeline, not necessarily by

Same here. Le sigh

So glad you're back, Leo! Your segments were always a favorite of mine on this site. Glad to hear your health is recovering.

Brian Altano over at IGN described it as favorably similar to FFCC in some respects.

I feel the same way. I played the 3DS one for the first time at a Nintendo event last month, and I just downloaded the demo. I'm getting used to it, but I would still really rather prefer to play with the + control pad (or, obviously, a Wii U Pro Controller or GameCube controller). It feels slippery and I have a
