I do like his chosen music tracks though. Pretty good as Doom metal covers go.

SO much better than the Super Mario Bros. movie, and on a fraction of the budget.
True! And didn't Link's big shield in the original Legend of Zelda have a cross on it?
Thanks for all the mentions, Evan! I'm enjoying writing the Nintendo IP series a great deal.
My 3DS is winning my war fairly handily, with my Wii U lagging far behind, for mostly the same reasons you described. I don't own a smart-phone or tablet, so it's also my only mobile option.
My elementary school had some sort of computer with an audiocassette data drive, but I cannot remember exactly what it was. Maybe a Commodore. I don't think the Apple II ever had a cassette drive, and most of our computers were the ol' green-and-black monocrhome Apple IIs. YAY OREGON TRAIL
I fancy myself something of a student of Nintendo history, and I had never heard of this! Great article.
IIRC, the "sanctuary" in the SNES version was called a "church" in the Super Famicom edition. But Nintendo of America had a strict no-religious references policy back then.
It's one of those old SNES carts that's been hollowed out and converted into a USB flash drive. You can find them on Etsy and a few other websites.
Contest over.
Wow, you just reminded me of the local drug store up the street from where I lived as a kid. Not only did they have a few arcade cabinets, they sold NES games! They were behind a counter with Timex watches and a few other consumer electronics (Walkmans? Walkmen?). I picked up about a third of my original NES…
in the new StreetPass games for Mii accoutrements.
Mike, I just got this game and, while I like it, I am a bit confused. It is VERY complicated. It would be great if you were able to write a "Tips for Playing..." column on PXZ! Thanks for your consideration.
I agree that there's nothing wrong with the hardware itself, but I can hardly blame EA et. al. for not wanting to spend millions developing for a console that sold fewer than 4 million units and with extremely low attach rates. I think I read somewhere Madden NFL '13 on Wii U sold like 67,000 copies? It must be…
D'oh! Reading is fundamental.
I had this amazing / awful game growing up. Basically Zelda II: The Adventure of Rambo in terms of look and feel. Pretty good soundtrack, though.
Offline-only per Joystiq.
I am seriously starting to resent Nintendo for making my Wii U completely undesirable to third-party publishers. Guess I'd better start saving for a used PS3 when everyone unloads them to buy a PS4.
Brilliant. Loved this.
Giant head on the right... is that... Sakurai???
